Body Language: Figurative Works by Five Women Sculptors

The sculptures in this exhibit propose a spirited, poetic voyage between the conscious and the subconscious. On view are Canadian sculptor Kathy Venter’s suspended life-size clay figures from her studies of the human form immersed under water, Christin Nelson’s arresting segmented compositions of the female body, Jane Burton’s tall and cocoon-like shell figures, Nina Lyons’ haunting representations of women melding with their animal counterparts and Virginia Maksymowicz’ installation referencing women’s roles in an architectural world predominantly built by men.
